Mary Whaley has been the Teacher Programs Manager at the Monterey Bay Aquarium since 2008. Her team reaches over 1,500 teachers yearly through conferences, long-term teacher institutes and workshops. She engages teachers in incorporating authentic science practice into the classroom through experiential learning, collaborations with scientists, and field experiences. She has a passion for art, and when not teaching teachers, she can be found in the pottery or silversmithing studio.
