SPACE IS LIMITED. THIS IS A FREE EXTRA WORKSHOP JUST FOR TEACHERS! The Power of Observation: Scientific Illustration for Teachers at the Monterey Bay Aquarium (MBA). Join John Muir Laws and Mary Whaley (Teacher Programs Manager for MBA) for a special "teacher's day" at MBA. This special pre-conference workshop at the MBA is for teachers who want to enhance their instruction with field-based scientific illustration. Scientific illustration enables students to more deeply connect to the natural world. Join us to learn drawing techniques that help your students communicate their observations, their thinking and their understanding of concepts in an engaging and comprehensible way. We will discuss literacy connections and how to effectively critique student work. Develop your own observation and drawing skills along the way!
